About BSRA

The Barnsbury Square Residents' Association (BSRA) was formalised with a new constitution and committee structure during 2012-13, having previously operated as an informal organisation of local volunteers over the previous few decades. The BSRA now holds regular committee meetings and an AGM.

Formalising the structure has the advantage that the BSRA is recognised by Islington Council, and by having a membership list we can demonstrate that we are truly representative of the local community.

The objectives of the Association are:

  1. To foster a sense of community
  2. To preserve and/or enhance the residents’ well-being and safety
  3. To preserve and/or enhance the environment
  4. To preserve and/or enhance the character and history of the area.

Previous activities have included representing the interests of local residents in relation to:

Road surfacing

Controlled parking

Traffic calming

Planning issues

[Short history]
